Global Category Manager Transportation & Logistic (m/f/d)
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the global category strategy for dedicated category, ensuring alignment with business needs and market trends
- Optimize supplier portfolio, balancing cost savings, risk mitigation, and service quality
- Lead supplier relationship management, overseeing negotiations, contract execution, and performance tracking
- Ensure compliance with global procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability standards
- Collaborate with business functions (Finance, Legal, Operations) to integrate category strategy into business planning
- Drive cost optimization initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency and value generation (Buy-Better and Spend-Better)
- Develop and implement demand planning and forecasting to improve procurement efficiency
- Oversee supplier lifecycle management, from onboarding and evaluation to continuous improvement
- Foster innovation through supplier partnerships and market insights to identify emerging opportunities
- Monitor procurement KPIs, tracking performance and ensuring continuous improvement in cost, quality, and risk managementi
You bring these skills, experience & education
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering or related field
- Master’s degree (in same fields as bachelor’s degree) is a plus but not required
- ~10+ years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on indirect categories such as Transportation & Logistic, ITC, Corp. & HR Services, Energy, Production Equipment or Travel
- ~5+ years of category management experience, developing and executing sourcing strategies at a global or Cross-regional level
- Proven leadership experience in driving complex negotiations, stakeholder alignment, and supplier management
- Track record in delivering cost savings, process efficiencies, and supplier-driven innovations
- Fluent English skills, written and verbal
